ISOFF Open Letter by V.S. Hidy
In 1973 Pete Hidy wrote a open letter to members of the International Society of Flymph Fisherman. His hope was to explore the relatively little understood, at that time, phenomenon of the emerging insect. The transition from nymph to adult or as Pete liked to call, the Fymph. Here is a view of this interesting work. Only 100 copies of this booklet were published, each came with two flies tied by Pete Hidy, as examples of one of the tying styles Liesenring and Hidy were advocating. This copy was graciously provided for photography by the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum, in Hall of Famer James Leisenring’s tribute display.
